Today marks 10 years since Khushi and I moved to London. It’s amazing how time has flown by and how much has changed. I know I say this every year on this day, and here it comes again…
“Not everyone gets another chance to start life all over again, I did – but on the cost of leaving my loved ones behind.”
Lately I have been thinking about my life and how it has turned out. The older I get, the more I realise all these side journeys and dark alleys had a very distinct and logical purpose . . . in spite of a few scratches and dents, I have (somehow) built a pretty amazing life.
Once upon a time (seems like ages ago), when I was younger – life seemed so easy. From living with my parents, being carefree, no big responsibilities and so on to suddenly have a full responsibility of myself and a child, jobs, house, bills (the list is never-ending).
Mum taught me one thing before she passed away; “This life is your journey and your journey only. No one will be there for you when you need them. They’ll be there to celebrate your good times but when the rough times come, they’ll be ‘busy’.”
Never did I ever dream of ending up in London (no regrets!) These 10 years has been incredible with endless of ups and downs (that’s life eh!) and most importantly I’ve been on a journey of self-discovery.
